SOLD OUT

AFTER AN IMPRESSIVE 23 YEARS TOGETHER, EIGHT STUDIO ALBUMS AND OVER A MILLION RECORDS SOLD WORLDWIDE, TURIN BRAKES ARE PERFORMING AT THIS TOTALLY UNIQUE AND INTIMATE SHOW

Not only will the band be playing an acoustic set of their back catalogue of songs spanning from their illustrious 20 year career, they will also be sharing stories and anecdotes with audience members for a one night only exclusive recorded discussion, hosted by The Reel Feedback Podcast. Expect a laid back, bar-style chat with a candid and honest account, looking back through the years and exposing the true experiences of the much loved band. There will also be an opportunity to ask your very own questions in an audience Q & A segment.

The very much admired indie four-piece, formed in Balham, South London in 1999, is composed of founding members and former primary school friends Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian plus longtime bandmates Rob Allum and Eddie Myer.

The band released their Mercury Music Prize nominated debut album ‘The Optimist’ in 2001 followed by ‘Ether Song’ in 2003, featuring the top five hit single Pain Killer (Summer Rain). Next came five subsequent albums until 2018 saw ‘Invisible Storm’ hit the airwaves, a collection of songs refracted through lyrics that embrace the personal and the universal.

One of the finest indie bands of the last two decades, with seven top 40 hits to their name. Turin Brakes are a band that are sure of who they are and what they’ve set out to do, and know that there’s always a story left to tell…

This event is a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with one of the greatest bands within the realms of Indie music and hear the stories behind the songs.

“Had the crowd hanging on to every note to fall out of frontman Olly Knights mouth as he turned out an evening of vocal mastery; with his founding band mate, Gale Paridjanian providing the set with a patchwork of epic guitar riffs and faultless picking unheard by many of the major players in music.”
RENOWNED FOR SOUND

"Turin Brakes inhabit a space which is entirely their own, fully formed and brutally emotive...give them the devotion they deserve."

The Reel Feedback Podcast began in 2017 as a passion project for host Kevin Dawson. With an insatiable appetite for sound and screen, each episode found Kevin sat in one-to-one conversation with behind-the-scenes figures from the TV, Music and Film industries in informal, candid chat on their career and credits.

From Oscar-winning costumes designers, art directors, editors and VFX artists for films and TV shows like Batman, Aliens, 2001, Harry Potter, Peep Show, Dexter, The Office, Star Wars and Bond to sound engineers and producers for artists like Foo Fighters, Coldplay, New Order and Muse.

For it’s second season in October 2020, Kevin added those in front of the camera and in front of the microphone to his roster. As of early 2022, his guestlist includes directors Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers, The Descent) and Prano Bailey-Bond (Censor), film critic Clarisse Loughrey, and singers Skin (Skunk Anansie), Grant Nicholas (Feeder), Grian Chatten (Fontaines D.C), Faris Badwan (The Horrors) and Gary Numan.

More bar-style chat than the standard press junket Q & A these names are used to, the conversations are often candid, laidback and honest in their content, often exposing the true experience of these industries from the guest’s perspectives.
